Greetings!

Greetings!

My name is Myah. Doula, Birth Activist, Mother, Healer.

I am a woman (she/her) of Caribbean and British heritage. I am a lover of cooking, music, singing, dancing, and joy. I am a fully trained doula with experience working in community engagement, particularly with Black perinatal women.

My doula journey began during the pregnancy of my first child in 2021 when I learnt of the challenges laid ahead for me as Black perinatal woman. My anti-racism journey strengthened following the aftermath of the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, when I discovered that the only thing that matters is Black liberation. My work and engagement has been centred on nothing else since then. I began my official doula training in 2023, combining both elements of the birth world and Black liberation, to finally form The ReBirth Space.

What is The
ReBirth Space?

The ReBirth Space is a Doula service based in Birmingham, UK, where African Diaspora families are able to connect back to their innate birth wisdom, to welcome the next generation with ease. This is done through:

  • Culturally-centred perinatal support in pregnancy, birth and postpartum

  • Online and in-person educational workshops

  • Ital food preparation services

  • Activism – in the form of newsletter writing and community engaging

Text saying 'The Vision' in a stylish, handwritten font with a brown background.

To Reclaim the wisdom and birthright of African Diaspora birthing families.

To Reimagine ways of safe birthing within a hostile white-bodied medical system for Black-bodied individuals.

To Remember and trust innate birth wisdom, one birthing person at a time.
